Saunas and steam rooms covering four genuinely different kinds of heat. Infrared warms your body directly at around 50°C. Traditional Finnish saunas run far hotter and take loyly steam on the stones. Steam rooms sit near total humidity at a lower temperature. Salt saunas add halotherapy to infrared.

From R12 500 for a portable steam cabin that plugs into a normal socket, up to R85 000 for a fitted six-outlet steam enclosure. The wood-fired Finnish sauna needs no electricity at all.
